Treatment of B-Cell Lymphoma in Dogs

Lymphoma is a type of cancer that develops from lymphocytes, a type of immune cell. Common signs include swollen lymph nodes, fatigue, loss of appetite, and weight loss.

Accurately identifying whether the lymphoma originates from B cells or T cells plays an important role in choosing the most appropriate treatment.

Based on the test results, the veterinarians at Wa Pet Clinic discussed the case and selected the CHOP-19 chemotherapy protocol. This treatment involves administering different medications on a weekly schedule, with planned rest periods to monitor the dog’s response to treatment and allow the body time to recover.

The goal of treatment is to achieve remission, control disease progression for as long as possible, and maintain the dog’s quality of life. Throughout chemotherapy, the veterinary team will closely monitor the dog’s overall health and laboratory results to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment.
